Come check out the local kid’s band 64 Tuna at the shop on saturday. The show is free and it starts at 6 pm. They just finished their first studio album and they will be for sale for the first time at the show. See ya there!

The Brink Gallery is pleased to announce the upcoming group exhibit, ON DECK 7.

ON DECK is a creation of the Montana Skatepark Association (MSA) and serves as an annual fundraiser for the organization whose mission is to fund and facilitate the construction of free, public, concrete skateparks across Montana. Past ON DECK auctions have helped the MSA to raise over $30,000 for skateboarding in Montana. The funding raised from OD7 will help with the MOBASH China Banks expansion and the brick banks repair.

This year’s skate art show and auction will feature approximately 40 custom skateboard decks created by artists from across Montana and the United States. Montana-based artists include Courtney Blazon, Trevor Parr, Jack Metcalf, Loryn Zerr and Andrea Leggitt to name a few. Other artists from around the country include Nathan Spoor from Los Angeles, Keith Carter from Portland, OR, Chris Leavens from Tujunga, CA, and Matthew Curry from Washington D.C.

As a very special added bonus for ON DECK 7, the MSA and brink gallery are proud to announce the presence of a piece of artwork that is sure to be a showstopper: the full-scale L.A. Fire Hydrant made entirely from recycled skateboards by Japanese skateboarder and artist Haroshi. The hydrant was made for pro-skater and owner of Huf, Keith Hufnagel and was part of the Huf x Haroshi x DLX collaboration and exhibition that took place in Los Angeles, January 2012. Not only was the hydrant on exhibit it was ollied and then signed by the pro-skaters afterwards.

This incredible piece of art is on loan to the MSA and the brink gallery specifically for viewing on First Friday Gallery Night. What Haroshi creates is unparalleled. It is not to be missed!

To further add to an already impressive show the MSA will be raffling off a deck made by Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam that will be on the cover of his new solo album and 20 Haroshi “Middle Finger” Peter Ramondetta posters.
